Project Overview
The AIS IDU Flowchart was a job aid created to help Atlanta International School (AIS) meet accreditation standards by providing teachers with a clear process for planning, teaching, and evaluating interdisciplinary units (IDUs). Designed using the ADDIE model, it addressed training and resource gaps identified through teacher feedback.
I created the flowchart as a digital, accessible hyperlinked PDF that was easy to understand and could be saved and revisited by teachers as needed. It supplemented professional training by providing a clear and organization-specific process for conducting IDUs.
Problem
AIS faced challenges in ensuring consistent and efficient implementation of IDUs, including:
Limited Training: Teachers often relied on trial-and-error without a standardized process.
Disorganized Resources: Essential documentation was scattered and lacked guidance.
Unclear Procedures: Teachers were unsure of required steps, tasks, and communication protocols.
These issues created inefficiencies that risked meeting accreditation standards.
Solution
The AIS IDU Flowchart resolved these challenges by:
Providing a Clear Process: Outlined step-by-step guidance for planning, teaching, and evaluating IDUs.
Consolidating Resources: Centralized tasks, templates, and documentation in one guide.
Clarifying Communication: Defined roles and contact points for approvals and evaluations.
Enhancing Accessibility: Delivered as a hyperlinked, digital PDF for easy navigation and usability.
This flowchart ensured AIS had a standardized and effective approach to IDU implementation, supporting its accreditation goals.
