The MeSure Phishing Awareness Course is a custom-designed e-learning solution aimed at reducing the risk of phishing scams within MeSure, a corporate call center company. With 30% of employees falling victim to phishing emails, this project addresses the critical need for improved awareness and action when handling suspicious emails. By engaging employees in an interactive, risk-free learning environment, the course equips them with the knowledge and skills to recognize phishing scams, identify legitimate emails, and take appropriate action to protect company data.

Project Goals

This project seeks to enhance email security awareness across MeSure’s workforce by achieving two primary goals:

1. Reduce the percentage of employees falling for phishing scams by 75% within two months of completing the training.

2. Strengthen the overall security of MeSure by ensuring employees can confidently identify phishing emails and take action to safeguard sensitive data.

Learning Outcomes

By completing the course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize email phishing scams.

• Identify the characteristics of phishing and legitimate emails.

• Report an email phishing scam to the MeSure IT Department.

These outcomes directly align with the business goal of creating a more informed, vigilant workforce.

Participant Analysis

The course is designed for MeSure’s employees, who work in a corporate call center environment. Currently, 30% of employees fall for phishing scams due to a lack of knowledge about phishing, legitimate business practices, and appropriate responses to suspicious emails. Participants need training to identify phishing characteristics, differentiate them from legitimate emails, and report or respond effectively.

This audience benefits from a risk-free learning environment where they can practice recognizing the characteristics of phishing emails, checking sender details, examining URLs, and understanding legitimate business communication.

Instructional Strategies

The course uses interactive and practical learning strategies to ensure participant engagement and skill acquisition:

• Scenario-Based Learning: Realistic email examples are provided to simulate phishing and legitimate scenarios, allowing employees to practice identifying scams.

• Interactive Hotspots: Participants click on email elements to reveal red (phishing) and blue (legitimate) flags, reinforcing key characteristics.

• Flip Cards: These activities let employees decide whether to report or reply to emails, providing immediate feedback and reinforcing correct actions.

• Risk-Free Practice: By creating a safe space for employees to learn and make mistakes, the course ensures knowledge is built without real-world consequences.

These strategies provide a dynamic and effective learning experience that equips MeSure employees to confidently handle phishing emails and protect company data.
